Raise your hand if you could use a bit of work on your heart and mind. Oh my, I am raising my hand crazy high right now. Let’s keep it real, 2020 gave us plenty of things to keep our minds racing and reasons for our hearts to feel heavy. It’s time to do a little damage control. The best thing we can ever do is meditate and memorize the life found in our Bibles. It’s time to kick this into high gear. You with me? Sweet! I knew you were going to join along.
Okay, before we begin, let’s talk about the word meditate. I will never forget the time our pastor told us meditating on scriptures was like a cow chewing its food. He would take a bite of grass and chew and chew and chew. He would then swallow the food and regurgitate it back up and chew on it some more. My family just recently started a new adventure of raising animals, (yes, you can call me Laura Ingles), and each time I see an animal chewing on food, I instantly think of this example. Gross, I know, but hey, it’s a great analogy. We are told in Joshua to meditate on the Word day and night. Looks like we have a lot of chewing to do. I am SO READY.
Below you will find two pages of verses you can save to your phone and print out. (You get ten million gold stars for printing it out.) I know this may sound silly, but I still love me a good tangible book and notebook. Nothing like having a paper copy on hand. I recently wrote these verses out in my notebook to not only meditate on, but to also memorize. I look at the verses throughout the day and then pick several to repeat in my head as I drift off to sleep at night. You know what’s been so interesting? When I wake up in the morning, I find myself thinking on these verses. I try going over them one more time in my my head before getting out of bed. Hiding the Word of God in our heart, ahhhhh, there is nothing like it. I don’t know about you, but I want to stuff as much of Jesus in my heart as I can, so it overflows into all I do.
I decided it was no fun to memorize verses alone. I just had to have you join the journey, so I typed up the verses and attempted to make it super cute. Pray for me as I try dipping my toe in the graphic design world. The link is below.
PDF: Meditate & Memorize: Verses For The Heart + Mind
Alright guys. Print off your copy and keep it on hand. The next several posts will be revolving around these verses we are studying together. We are in this together, right? You better believe we are. I can’t wait to see what all the Lord has in store as we meditate and memorize the LIFE found in His Word!
Love ya,
Monique
